I’m excited to be able to announce that I have been made Head of Localization at Mozilla.

This has been a very unexpected opportunity. Mozilla has one of the first and largest community-driven localization (l10n) programs in the software industry. In addition to leading the l10n-drivers team (the team responsible for coordinating Firefox l10ns in as many human languages as possible), I will be leading a global community of hundreds of dedicated, volunteer, Mozilla localizers. It’s all very exciting and humbling!

I’m stepping into some really big shoes. Chris Hofmann (aka chofmann) is one of the best managers I’ve ever had. He’s a tent pole within Mozilla and is endeared to all. I’m very honored to have the opportunity to stand on the shoulders of chofmann’s greatness. I’m looking forward to using my unique skills, experience, and ideas to build upon chofmann’s l10n legacy.
